Jobs at Rent-A-Hacker, Inc.

So you fancy yourself a hacker?  And you think you want to turn pro, huh?   Well slow down a minute and read carefully:

  1. Rent-A-Hacker only hires Independent Contractors (IC's).
  2. All IC's are responsible for providing their own equipment, including computer systems, telephony and internet connectivity.
  3. Rent-A-Hacker holds it's IC's up to the highest standards of ethics.  Absolutely no violations are permitted, and all transgressions are subject to civil action in addition to reporting to law enforcement authorities.
  4. Applicants must have a demonstrable thorough working knowledge within at least a one of the following areas:  telephony, networking protocols (TCP/IP, SPX/IPX, NetBEUI) & NOS's (Novell, Banyon Vines, LANtastic, WindowsNT, etc.), operating systems (DOS, VAX, SMS, UNIX/LINUX, NTFS, etc.), electronic security (ComSec, InfoSec).
  5. All IC's are required to sign an Independent Contractor Agreement and are responsible for payment of all applicable taxes.  We do file Form-1099's on all payments to United States citizens.
  6. Applicants may be required to pass testing before being considered for IC status at our sole discretion.
  7. Rent-A-Hacker is NOT a school for hackers.  If you are looking to learn how to do things, please peruse the newsgroups, chatrooms and websites or get this book for starters.
  8. Rent-A-Hacker is a professional security company that does not have time or patience for hacker politics.  We do not care what "groups" you are affiliated with or belong to, since we don't contract with groups, only individuals.
  9. You can get paid very well for doing what you do best... LEGALLY!

Interested applicants should e-mail us a résumé (cv) along with a cover letter describing your unique skills.  If we are in need of your skills, we will respond by sending you our IC Screening Form.  All potential IC's must complete the IC Document Package prior to being given full IC status.  You should download this package, and read through it.  If we offer you IC status, you will be required to complete those documents and return them to us.
